I had a gas playing this number with my Allstars pals, plus special guests Chris Bergson on guitar and Michael “Bull” LoBue (of Little Feat) on harp. Woohoo!
Here’s one I liked from the recent Ripple Allstars show @ The Bitter End. Check out this Dylan cover (longest song title ever, and it doesn’t even appear in the song), “It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry”.
A classic Elton John tune, played on 12-string guitar, from a performance this past August.
In April I made a guest appearance as a featured performer at McGillin’s historic Irish Pub in downtown Philadelphia, with Norm Russell (of Reale’s open mic in NE Philly), as “Norm and Col”. April 21st, McGillins’ Olde Ale House, 1310 Drury St, Philadelphia, PA 19107
This was one of those days you remember, as Jimmy Vivino (Conan O’Brien, Fab Faux, his own amazing body of work) sat in with the Ripple Allstars and allowed me to throw down with him a little bit … it was awesome!
Here’s a reel of highlights of me playing Grateful Dead music with The Jambaritos. I devoted myself to this music early on as a teenager, then moved on for some years and now I’m back to this rich songbook. Not for everyone, but those of us that love it, love it!
