This was part of a fun night in October with Friends of Friends… thanks to everyone that came out, it was packed!
Myself and Norm Russell, who’ve been playing together since we were teenagers, got a chance to play a set at the historic McGillin’s Olde Ale House in my hometown of Philadelphia. Here’s a few highlights from the performance. Whew, they made us feel welcome!
Here’s one I liked from the recent Ripple Allstars show @ The Bitter End. Check out this Dylan cover (longest song title ever, and it doesn’t even appear in the song), “It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry”.
This was one of those days you remember, as Jimmy Vivino (Conan O’Brien, Fab Faux, his own amazing body of work) sat in with the Ripple Allstars and allowed me to throw down with him a little bit … it was awesome!

January has been a tough month as far as music heroes exiting this dimension. This song was originally released on Crosby, Stills & Nash’s eponymous debut album, and was also performed frequently by Crosby and Nash in the duet format. It is one of my desert island songs. Super stoked to get a half-decent take…
