I began playing guitar at age 13 in Philadelphia. My first guitar came from Sears. I took lessons and practiced in my bedroom along with the rock masters of the day. Inspired by advanced rock compositions by artists like Steely Dan and the Grateful Dead, I pursued a music degree, and graduated from Temple U. with a degree in Jazz/Commercial Guitar Performance. After a 16 month gig on a cruise ship, I moved to NY city and have spent lo these many years gigging and teaching all over the NY tri-state area and beyond.
I’m fluent in multiple styles: Rock, Blues, Soul/Funk, Jazz, Latin, Folk and related styles. A sampling of gigs I’ve played:
- Society/Wedding – George Gee Orchestra, Hank Lane Music, Kevin Osborne, Wally Herman & Carnaval Orchestra
- Rock bands – Ripple Allstars, Dead Reckoning, The Jambaritos, Angry Young Band, The Shoes, Shorts Barracuda, Rebel Rose Band
- Jazz and Jazz-Rock groups – Jazz Bandits, Colin Taber Trio, Colin Taber and Friends, The Hand in Hand Band
